Highest level medical evidence proving the efficacy and safety of Fotona SMOOTH® modality for treatment of Stress Urinary Incontinence (SUI)

18 October 2021

Key opinion leader Dr. Barry O'Reilly has presented the results of a multicentric randomized controlled trial of Fotona's IncontiLase treatment at this year's ICS Conference.

The results show that IncontiLase® performs significantly better than sham treatment in reducing the symptoms of SUI. The trial included 8 prominent European urogynecological investigators from the UK, Ireland, Switzerland, Greece and Slovenia, which were coordinated by Dr. Barry O'Reilly from Ireland.

Although it is not the first RCT for IncontiLase®, it is significant because it was the first multicentric trial and also included the widest array of objective and subjective measures, with up to 1 year follow up. The study provides the highest-level medical evidence of the efficacy and safety of the Fotona SMOOTH® laser modality for the treatment of stress urinary incontinence.

For more information see the abstract or watch Dr. O'Reilly's lecture at the ICS conference.
