High Interest in Fotona Treatments at FIGO 2015

13 October 2015

Three years ago, at the FIGO 2012 World Congress in Rome, Fotona officially launched its line of new minimally invasive laser gynecology treatments, and the enormous level of feedback the company received from attendees was overwhelming positive. This year, Fotona returned to the XXI FIGO World Congress in Vancouver with an expanded range of minimally invasive gynecological applications, and the response has once again exceeded all expectations. Among the numerous visits to the Fotona booth during the 3-day congress, there were also a good number of highly satisfied existing users of Fotona’s gynecology lasers and applications – primarily from Europe, Latin America, the Middle East and Asia.

In addition to the original IntimaLase® (laser vaginal tightening) and IncontiLase® (incontinence) applications that were introduced three years ago, Fotona’s range of minimally invasive treatments now also includes RenovaLase® (for vaginal atrophy), with still more specialized treatments currently in development.

Fotona participated at FIGO with a booth, two poster presentations, two afternoon seminars, and an oral lecture (Clinical Evaluation of New Erbium YAG Laser Thermo Therapy in Comparison with Hormonal Replacement Therapy for Vaginal Atrophy, by Dr. Adrian Gaspar), which attracted a full audience that showed considerable interest in the topic by posing numerous questions and visiting Fotona’s booth afterward to learn more.

Overall, this year’s FIGO congress was an outstanding success. Awareness of minimally invasive laser procedures in gynecology has been rising steadily among gynecologists, and it’s clear from our experience in Vancouver that the future holds extraordinary opportunities.
